Two Open Days with international guests: from ACCS Workshops to the 800-Ton Goliath Cranes in Chioggia
A two-day tour across our facilities showcased production capabilities at ACCS, engineering and testing at Cimolai Technology HQ, and the next-generation 100-metre cranes built for Fincantieri
During May, Cimolai Technology welcomed international guests for two Open Days designed to offer an in-depth view of our industrial ecosystem, engineering approach, and the scale of the projects we deliver.
The visit began at ACCS – Armando Cimolai Centro Servizi, our steel fabrication facility, where we presented our production capabilities, processes, and manufacturing capacity. From fabrication to handling and quality controls, guests had the opportunity to see how our teams transform complex requirements into reliable industrial outputs.
The tour then moved to the Cimolai Technology headquarters, with a focus on our technical office and corporate functions, alongside the workshop area where assemblies and testing activities take place. This step of the Open Day highlighted the link between engineering design, verification and execution—key elements in delivering high-performance solutions for demanding sectors.
The second day was dedicated to our Chioggia site, where guests visited the two 800-ton Goliath cranes currently at the centre of one of our most ambitious engineering developments. Each crane reaches 100 metres in height—comparable to a 30-storey building—yet the redesigned structure gives them a more slender and agile profile, challenging the traditional perception of Goliath cranes as compact and “heavy”.
These cranes will be introduced into the Fincantieri Monfalcone shipyard to support the handling of sections for new-generation cruise ships, designed to accommodate 7,500 passengers and 2,500 crew members. The project involved 32,000 engineering hours and represents a significant evolution in our ability to design and deliver large-scale, high-precision lifting systems for advanced industrial environments.
