BOABARGE 38 arrives in Chioggia for a special transport mission of Cimolai Technology’s 800-Ton Cranes

The semi-submersible heavy-lift barge docks in Chioggia to load two 800-ton cranes and prepare for delivery to Monfalcone in the coming weeks.

Chioggia welcomed a true sea giant today as the BOABARGE 38—a semi-submersible heavy-lift barge built for exceptional transport operations—entered the port. The arrival, supported by tugboats and maritime authorities, highlights the complexity of the maneuver and the strategic nature of the mission.

BOABARGE 38 is in Chioggia for a dedicated task: loading the massive 800-ton cranes manufactured by Cimolai Technology and completing the preparations required for their sea voyage.

With its outstanding specifications—152 metres in length and a 28,500-ton cargo capacity—BOABARGE 38 is a key asset for industrial logistics and port operations. After the loading phase in Chioggia, the barge is scheduled to sail to Monfalcone in the coming weeks, where the cranes will be delivered for the next stages of deployment.
