Portal Crane

We design and manufacture shipyard cranes—including portal cranes, bridge cranes, and gantry cranes—engineered for safe, efficient lifting and handling in shipyards and heavy industrial facilities, with tailor-made capacities, spans, and duty cycles.
Portal Crane

Stronger lifts, smarter operations

Cimolai Technology’s Portal Cranes are engineered to deliver high lifting performance, structural strength, and operational safety across commercial ports, shipyards, and intermodal terminals—with each crane custom designed to match the exact requirements of your site.

From lifting capacity and structural configuration to working radius, height clearance, rail or travel system, and duty cycle, every portal crane is scalable and configurable for real-world port workflows. Integrated solutions for advanced crane control and safety systems support precise movements and safer operations, even under intensive use. Engineered for long-term reliability in harsh conditions such as wind, salt exposure, and humidity, these cranes are trusted worldwide by commercial ports, intermodal terminals, and shipyards.

Portal Crane Key Features

MACHINERY ROOM

Force ventilated through a filtered air intake

OPERATOR’S CABIN

Air-conditioned and positioned to ensure clear view of the load and handling area

CABIN MAINTENANCE ACCESS

Stairs, walkways and ladders for easy access during operations and maintenance

SLEWING GEAR UNIT

High dimensioned slew ring with 360° slewing angle using copper slip rings.

Structure

100% manufactured in Cimolai Technology’s workshops in Italy, steel plates come exclusively from primary European Companies. The structure is designed as per the latest FEM and UNI EN standards and is made of box girders with inner stiffening elements, optimizing the structural resistance.
