GANTRY CRANES FOR SHIPYARD - RGC 800 each

    Two high-capacity Goliath gantry cranes designed for heavy shipyard operations, engineered to deliver maximum lifting performance while remaining fully compatible with existing site infrastructure. Each crane is rated at 800 tons SWL, with the option for tandem lifting up to 1600 tons.

    This project required a high-performance solution within strict technical and operational constraints:

    • Delivery deadline: two fully operational gantry cranes within 24 months
    • Bridge span: 118 meters, requiring advanced structural design and stiffness control
    • Safe Working Load (SWL): 800 tons per crane
    • Infrastructure limitation: full compatibility with existing rails, avoiding new foundations and related costs/permitting
    • Zero disruption requirement: shipyard operations must remain fully uninterrupted during construction and installation

    These requirements demanded both engineering precision and innovative structural/installation strategies.

    To meet the above constraints, the cranes are designed around efficiency, optimization, and safety:

    • Two rail-mounted gantry cranes, fully customized to the existing shipyard layout
    • Truss girder bridge structure to reduce overall steel weight and minimize wind resistance
    • Winches installed on the lower beams, lowering the crane’s center of gravity and improving stability
    • Tandem lifting capability up to 1600 tons, enabling flexible handling of large blocks and shipbuilding assemblies

    This configuration provides high lifting capacity with reduced structural loads, while ensuring full compliance with the existing rail system—without stopping production activities.
