Upper trolley in place on the first 800-ton Goliath crane

Upper Trolley in place on the first 800-ton Goliath crane for Fincantieri

The installation marks an important step forward in the construction of the new heavy-lifting cranes, combining power, precision, and innovation.

Progress continues on the development of the two 800-ton Goliath cranes designed for Fincantieri. The upper trolley of the first crane has been successfully positioned, confirming a key advancement in the assembly process.

The upper trolley, with a lifting capacity of 550 tons (275 tons per hook), performs the main translating movement along the structure.

It also features an integrated service crane, allowing full maintenance access along the entire crane. Positioned on top of the trolley, this system enhances safety, accessibility, and operational efficiency — a solution highly appreciated by clients.

Furthermore, the crane can handle unbalanced loads up to 100 tons, ensuring maximum flexibility in heavy-lifting operations.

This achievement represents another step toward delivering a state-of-the-art system built for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
