TWO NEW 800-TON GOLIATH CRANES UNDERWAY

Designing the Future: two new 800-ton Goliath Cranes underway

We are excited to share a major project currently in development: the design and construction of two new 800-ton Goliath cranes. This ambitious project showcases our expertise in heavy lifting equipment, structural engineering, and complex infrastructure integration — all under a tight 24-month schedule.

Two New 800-Ton Goliath Cranes

The Engineering Challenge

Designing high-capacity cranes is always a technical feat, but this project comes with a unique set of constraints:

Delivery deadline: two fully operational Goliath gantry cranes within 24 months

Massive span: a 118-meter bridge, a complex engineering challenge

High Safe Working Load (SWL): each crane rated for 800 tons

Infrastructure limitations: full compatibility with existing rails — avoiding the cost, time, and permitting needed for new foundations

Zero disruption: shipyard operations must remain uninterrupted throughout the construction and installation phases

These constraints demanded not only technical precision, but also creative, forward-thinking solutions.

Our Tailored Solution

To meet these challenges, our engineering team developed a solution focused on efficiency, structural optimization, and operational safety:

Two gantry cranes on rails, fully customized to fit the existing shipyard layout

Truss girder structures to reduce overall weight and minimize wind resistance

Winches installed on the lower beams, significantly lowering the center of gravity

Tandem lifting operations up to 1600 tons, offering flexibility and power for large shipbuilding tasks

This approach ensures maximum lifting capacity, reduced structural loads, and full compliance with existing site constraints — all without interrupting ongoing production.

Looking Ahead

This project is more than a technical achievement— it’s a demonstration of how smart design can overcome complexity without compromise. The integration of advanced structural techniques with operational needs allows us to deliver cost-effective, reliable, and future-ready crane systems.
