Two 800 t Goliath Cranes for Fincantieri

Two 800 t Goliath Cranes for Fincantieri: engineered in Chioggia, bound for Monfalcone

Cimolai Technology and ACCS deliver end-to-end design, fabrication, assembly, testing, and an innovative sea transport on a special barge.

Cimolai Technology, together with ACCS-Armando Cimolai Centro Servizi—the metal fabrication division of the Cimolai Technology Group—has completed two 800 t Goliath cranes for Fincantieri. Engineered, fabricated, erected, assembled and tested at Porto Val da Rio in Chioggia, the cranes embody our integrated approach to heavy lifting solutions for modern shipyards.

From design through commissioning, the project was delivered by a single, coordinated team. ACCS ensured high-precision steel fabrication and quality control, while Cimolai Technology led the engineering, erection, mechanical and electrical integration, and functional testing to de-risk start-up and accelerate handover.

The two 800 t Goliath cranes are tailored to large-block handling and high-throughput shipbuilding workflows, combining lifting capacity with reliability, safety and operational efficiency. Factory and port-side testing in Chioggia enables a predictable commissioning phase at the final destination.

A highlight of the project is its innovative logistics: both cranes, fully assembled and tested, will be transported by sea on a special barge from Chioggia to Fincantieri’s shipyard in Monfalcone. This approach minimizes disruption onsite and significantly reduces installation time within an active yard.

With this delivery, Cimolai Technology confirms its capability to manage complex, end-to-end crane projects—bringing together engineering depth, steelwork excellence and tailored marine transport to meet demanding schedules and performance targets.
