Sunrise at Porto Val da Rio between our two sea Giants: the 800-ton Goliath cranes take shape
In Chioggia, the main boom of the second Goliath crane has reached its final height. Next: installing the legs and starting commissioning tests.
At dawn, Porto Val da Rio becomes a scene of pure atmosphere: soft gradients of light reflecting on the water, and two immense silhouettes rising over the shipyard. Between our two sea giants—two 800-ton Goliath cranes currently being assembled in our Chioggia site—the day begins with a quiet kind of energy that only a port can offer.
In the last hours, another key operation has been completed: the main beam (primary lattice structure) of the second Goliath crane has been lifted and positioned at its definitive height. From the first light of morning, the cranes draw clean lines against the sky, while the colors fade from deep blue to gold in a view that’s simply unforgettable.
The work continues with the next steps already planned: the installation of the legs of the second crane and the start of commissioning tests. A complex project, built piece by piece, that transforms technical excellence into a living part of the harbor skyline—an experience that feels almost magical to witness in person.
